About Our Farm

Our farm is located in Central Indiana in a small rural town called Trafalgar. We raise Boer (Meat) and Alpine (Dairy) Goats. We started raising goats in 2007 as a 4H project for our children. They showed goats every year at the fair, they often talk about how the County Fair was the best week of the year. Lots of memories were made during their 10 years in 4H.

We really wanted the children to have the entire experience of raising the animals and that means producing and using the goats by-products. We grew and harvested the hay we feed to our animals. The entire family loved “Hay Day” and we learned that picking up and stacking hay was hard work and always fell on the hottest days of the year. Every fall we would butcher a few goats and stock the freezer with meat. Everyone enjoys eating the goat meat and actually prefer it to the traditional red meat (cow). We would milk our dairy goats everyday (sometimes after practice or games – which meant late nights in the barn), pasteurize the milk and drink it, make ice cream, and use it to feed orphan animals. In 2011, we decided to use the milk to make soap. All of our friends and family received soap for Christmas that year, and it turned out they all loved it and wanted more. Our friends insisted that they pay for the soap and encouraged us to set up at our town’s festival. We had no idea that a little hobby would turn into the small business we have today.
